Make the Right Choice

Integrity, knowledge, experience and communication skills are all key.

Choosing the right inspection service can be difficult. Unlike most professionals, you probably will not get to meet your inspector until after you hire them. Furthermore, different inspectors have varying qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods, and yes, different pricing. We feel we offer the best in each of these categories. You can be sure that when you hire The Master Inspection Group you get the very best we have. Ultimately a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector’s own effort and experience. If you honor us by permitting us to inspect your property, we guarantee that we will give you our very best effort. Trust in our experience and skill.

Our Training

Our expertise comes from continuous training in inspection and equipment techniques.

The professionals of The Master Inspection Group offer our clients the very best service made possible by the best training available. We take our business seriously enough to travel the country attending specialized training events and meeting the world’s foremost authorities in home and commercial-related services. Building inspections, diagnostics, and forensic investigations involve continuous and extensive training, equipment, and experience. A thorough understanding of building science, construction, materials, codes, environmental conditions, failure rates, insulating materials, moisture intrusion, vapor diffusion, and general building science is required to accurately diagnose difficult building conditions.

Building Analyst Training

Building Analyst Standards emphasize the ‘house-as-a-system’ approach to inspecting a home or building, meaning that all systems are interconnected from the HVAC equipment, to the envelope, the foundation, walls, roof, doors and windows. With infrared we also use diagnostic equipment such as the blower door and the combustion analyzer to ensure systems are functioning together correctly to maximize building performance, comfort, energy efficiency, safety and durability. A building inspector and energy auditor certification gives property owners peace of mind knowing the professional meets the national standards of the Department of Energy.

Certified Stucco Inspector and Moisture Analyst Trained

Exterior Design Institute is a non-profit organization founded for training and certifying Building Envelope and EIFS Inspectors and Moisture Analysts to promote quality control within the construction industry. Since 1980, Infraspection Institute has provided training, certification, and support services for thousands of thermographers worldwide. We offer our clients Two Infrared Certified Inspectors with the best level of training and experience in the area. Phil Henderson has done over 900 infrared/thermal imaging inspections. The Infrared Certified Program was developed by InterNACHI (Internation Association of Certified Home Inspectors) specifically for the training of home and building diagnostics. When we took the course it was the only one dedicated to complete training for conditions found in the course of a home inspection and commercial application. Home and Building Inspectors have a specific understanding of the many conditions that can exist within a structure and are better equipped to use infrared technology as an extension of their profession. It’s much easier for a home/building inspector to learn thermal imaging than it is for a thermal imaging student to learn home and building inspections. Our Technology

Our company is the area leader in inspection tools and equipment.

Advancements in technology have brought more accurate inspections of building systems. Our Thermal Imaging equipment allows us to see large areas to pinpoint damages that would not otherwise be found. Our company is always on the leading edge of new technology. We see the value in time savings, accurate testing, and reduced damage costs to our clients and property owners.

Advanced Thermal Imaging

The Master Inspection Group at Tennessee Building Inspections was the first company in the area to offer Infrared services. Thermal Imaging is an advanced technology that allows us to see below the surface of most materials using infrared. Thermal patterns are shown on the screen of these cameras that look very much like a photo. We interpret the patterns and look for “anomalies” or characteristics in the material that looks different from the rest. In the case of stucco / EIFS inspections, we use the camera to scan large surface areas before we use our scanners to help pinpoint major damages. We also use the thermal imager inside the building to see potential moisture damage to floors, ceilings, and walls. Our company has three high-tech thermal imaging devices including the latest and most advanced FLIR T-620 imager.

Robotic Aerial Inspection and Photo Documentation

The inspection of tall buildings, roofs, chimneys, and other difficult visual challenges in the course of a residential and commercial project lead us to provide this new technology to our clients. While other inspection services are providing excuses and disclaimers we provide our clients with solutions.

Robotic Inspection Platform

The inspection of hard-to-access foundations provides visual challenges as well in the course of the discovery process. New robotic platforms make the inspection of these areas possible with specialized size and maneuverability. Equipped with digital rotating cameras and specialized lighting systems these machines offer our clients a higher level of certainty.

Tramex Wet Wall Detector

Preset for the correct EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) range thickness, the Wet Wall Moisture Detector can trace moisture even when no visible clues exist. The Tramex Wet Wall Moisture Detector is specifically for EIFS and is the only Non-Destructive moisture scanner that its signals will penetrate through the coating and the EPS insulation to detect elevated moisture in the sheeting board. Its depth of penetration on most EIFs construction is in excess of 3 inches.

Delhorst BD-2100

Features a digital display and separate scales for wood, plaster/concrete, and gypsum. Measures wood moisture content over the range of 6-40%. The reference scale provides relative moisture readings in non-wood materials. This meter also features an industry-exclusive sheetrock scale to measure % moisture content in sheetrock over the range of .2% to 6.0%. Averages up to 50 accumulated readings. Adjustable, audible set-point alerts you when a pre-selected % moisture content has been reached. Green, yellow and red LEDs provide at-a-glance indication of moisture conditions. One of the industry favorites for testing EIFS (Exterior Insulated Finish Systems).

Moisture Ecounter Plus

The Moisture Encounter Plus is a follow-up to the world’s most popular and successful non-destructive moisture meter, the Moisture Encounter. Tramex Encounter Moisture Plus Non-Destructive Moisture Meter detects moisture in wood, drywall plaster, and brick without leaving any marks.

Our company performs a variety of services that require inspection reports to be very specific to our needs and the needs of our clients. A thorough inspection report with detailed descriptive and visual information is vital to all parties in the transaction.
